Covid Cooking :: Homemade Tahini

Tahini is a fabulous paste made from sesame seeds that gives a slightly nutty flavour to hummus and baba ghanoush.

Sure,you can buy it at a store, but making it is so simple!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sesame seeds
  • salt (to taste)
  • olive oil

Directions

  1. Toast sesame seeds in a frying pan on top of the stove, brown them, but don’t burn them. Stirring often
  2. Put toasted sesame seeds in a blender
  3. Blend, add olive oil and salt to make a creamy paste.
  4. Store in a jar in your fridge
  5. Use within a couple of weeks.
