Dollarama DIY :: Christmas Wreath
There’s something magical about taking blank parts and turning it into something creative, crafty and even beautiful! So let’s talk about how you can make an inexpensive wreath from things at Dollarama.
I was seeking out ways of making something for the front of my apartment that would withstand the weather and came up with this DIY.. all for under $20
Dollarama is a dollar store chain in Canada that has lots of seasonal items, craft goods, toys, food, housewares and party supplies.
What You’ll Need
- Wire frame – $3
- Plain greenery garland – $3
- 2 Decorative garlands (one only berries,the other with pinecones and snow encrusted berries,foliage) – $4/each
- Burlap 4″ ribbon – $3
- Red Velvet Ribbon – $1.25
Total Cost: $18.25
How To Put It All Together
Step 1 :: Wrap the green garland around the wire frame to cover as much of the wire as possible.
Step 2 :: Take one of the decorative garlands and wrap around the framing, tucking and adjusting to showcase the garland as needed.
Step 3 :: Wrap the burlap ribbon loosely around the wreath. Twisting slightly in the back to give the ribbon more movement and shape. Cut off any excess and tuck into the greenery.
Step 4 :: Tie down the 1st decorate garland into the greenery and burlap. Do this with fishing wire or floral wire.
Step 5:: Add in more decorative garland, wrap around and adjust to showcase the best parts of the garland. You can even cut up this garland to add into specific spots in the garland.
Step 6 :: Add on a festive bow.. tying onto the wreathe frame to stabilize the bow.
Step 7 :: Add any additional decor, lights, trim and hang!
